is it really the aluminium used is not yet opened n full of water inside?
is it both tins on d map is full of water?

    ReplyDelete
  14. yes...2 aluminium are loaded (full of water)...
1 is fixed on the sector A, and the other 1 will randomly put on 1 of the 4 circles.....
but we will announce before quarantine time..

    because.....MALAYSIA BOLEH mah...
    hehe..

    ReplyDelete
  18. so we need to think how to design 1 motor can open and close the robot's arm, when robot's arm close until the limit(can't close already), the motor will push the gears and push robot up....
this is idea only, who still remember last year NRC "robot energizing" event, got few teams use same idea to get "solar"...hehe...

  19. tkasih jason tee... good job

    ReplyDelete
  20. jason , my GB bought 2 new sets of NXT , they r the same with the one we used last year , but there are no software inside the two boxes . Does this mean that we use the old one ?

    ReplyDelete
  21. yes...if the school got software already, we didn't suggest buy the software again..because the software is same...

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  24. jason , what happen if the ball fell off the robot ? we start again or what ?

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. download the file slow because ur net slow lo..haha...
    2. for the primary school event, if the ball fell off, the robot still can continue the track until finish box, but u lost 35 points(ball's point), can't start again...if u touch the robot, the game is over...

    ReplyDelete
  26. haha...i will reply all the question when i am online, but actually i online every night...hope this will help u all....hehe.....

    ReplyDelete
  27. how much time r given or how many round we need 2 go ?

    ReplyDelete
  28. 2 minutes per round, each team 2 rounds...

    ReplyDelete
  29. for vertical limit bot start on black line or opposite...

    ReplyDelete
  30. do we need to buy some thing to participate... coz what i heard... guy from melaka said that we need buy map first.than can participate

    ReplyDelete
  31. for vertical limit, the robot need to start at the bottom of the first pole, start on black line or opposite is up to u..as long as the robot's size is not exceed the maximum size...

    ReplyDelete
  32. not necessary to buy something then just can enter the competition...but we SUGGEST the schools buy the map for practice...or buy some extra sensors or parts for improve ur robot...

    ReplyDelete
  33. when the NRC competition,Selangor?

    ReplyDelete
  34. not confirm yet..normally is Jun or early July...

    ReplyDelete
  35. what is the length of black line in vertical limit?

    ReplyDelete
  36. we didn't measure...
very obvious right..the line is from pole A to Pole B ...

    ReplyDelete
  37. actually i want to know the length between pole A and B

    ReplyDelete
  38. sorry, i didn't measure oh...haha
ur school buy the playing field or not?
if got then u can measure ..if no better buy lo...because we will use same size playing field during competition..

    ReplyDelete
  39. err.. my school did not buy the map. we dont have money to buy it. the map cost around rm400 plus lower sec map around rm800 thats too much for my school

    ReplyDelete
  40. ic....like that ok lah...
i will measure for u when i get the playing field...

    ReplyDelete
  41. hi mr. jason... i want to know the length between the pole A and pole B.. u know what, my student said it is impossible to make the robot to climb up the pole...aiyoooo

    ReplyDelete
  42. haha..nothing is impossible...
the schools in pahang & sarawak can make the robot climb up the pole already...
but now the hardest part is robot need to move from pole A to pole B itself and climb pole B..
it really tough, that's mean who can do it who will be champion lo...maybe..

    ReplyDelete
  43. pahang&pahang start olady?? or just practice..

    ReplyDelete
  44. just practice...but i heard haven't autonomous yet...ganbateh...

    ReplyDelete
  45. My school just start to think for the climbing part. Plz help!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Plz post some good ideas here. TQ.

    ReplyDelete
  47. which part of sarawak team know hw to solve the climbing parts....Can i noe??..ty.

    ReplyDelete
  48. we all knew that the upper secondary school event is very tough..we r thinking and try to find some idea for schools.....

    ReplyDelete
  49. can we use something like "benang@getah" as add on

    ReplyDelete
  50. JUST NOW I WATCH VID FROM UKRAINE TEAM WRO 2009, XKAN XDE KOT OUR NATIONAL TEAM PUNYA VID... UPLOAD LE KAT YOUTUBE KE... JUST FOR INSPIRATION

    ReplyDelete
  51. can you explain in detail about triggering the switches in treasure hunt?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Can i noe the distance between pole A and B ?tQ..

    ReplyDelete
  53. mRd : we can use the " benang@getah" as long as the parts is from LEGO EDUCATION SET...

wilson : for treasure hunt, if the robot want to trigger the switch A, it need to follow the line A until any part of the robot touch the wall, then it counted trigger the switch A already, same with C and B.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You can donwload the WRO video from SASBADI website, nrc.sasbadi.com

    ReplyDelete
  55. the whole parts of robots much be up to climb de pole?

    ReplyDelete
  56. can use retail nxt for tournament??

    ReplyDelete
  57. yes..for upper secondary event, the whole robot need to climb up the pole...can't just transform the robot from the bottom of the pole and get the ball..hehe..

    ReplyDelete
  58. can't use the retail set for the NRC....only education set, we will check during competition...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Any idea how to run more than 3 motors on 1 NXT?

    ReplyDelete
  60. for vertical limit, do the robot need to move from pole A to pole B by it self?
or the student have to carry the robot to pole B by hand?

    ReplyDelete
  61. 2 or more motors can share 1 output port, NXT has 3 output port right? that's mean we can run a lot of motors at a time, u just use 2 convertor cable to connect 2 motors first, then use third convertor cable connect the motors with 1 output port...
eh..very hard to understand right? wahaha..nvm, i will take a photo and post on the blog...
but in this case, the robot can't use motor's degree sensor any more...can use timing only..

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes...for vertical limit, the robot need to move from pole A to pole B itself, students can't touch the robot...if touched then GAME OVER...

    ReplyDelete
  63. hi mr jason...
in upper secondary competition, can we drop the first pingpong ball after we get the ball? Or we must bring it along while getting the another ball?

    ReplyDelete
  64. For upper secondary, the robot can drop the first ping pong ball after robot reached the bottom of pole A(get the points already), but please remember is not the contestant take the ball from robot, the robot must drop the ball itself...
if u touch the robot or ball.......GAME OVER...haha..

    ReplyDelete
  65. jason , on march 25 , u said after the robot starts , the size of the robot are no longer restricted . that means the size can be bigger than 25 cm ?

    ReplyDelete
  66. yes....for vertical limit event....after the robot starts , the size of the robot are no longer restricted..

    ReplyDelete
  67. can use nxt ultrasonic sensor in rcx or not???

    ReplyDelete
  68. haha...can not woh....rcx not support ultrasonic sensor....

    ReplyDelete
  69. haiyo... rosak program... i Thought want to use rcx for vertical limit.. rcx is lighter...

    ReplyDelete
  70. haha...of course RCX is lighter than NXT a lot...especially motors....

    ReplyDelete
  71. jason, what happen if one of the obsticles 'tercabut' when the robot pass by ?

    ReplyDelete
  72. no problem...the robot can continue the mission....but if the robot DAMAGE the playing field or obstacle purposely...we will consider the team is game over...

    ReplyDelete
  73. jason , does the robot hv 2 stop at the finish box ? what if the robot stops a bit out side the box ? i mean half in half outside.

    ReplyDelete
  74. where to get the nxt program???i wan de

    ReplyDelete
  75. For primary school event, the robot no need stop at the finish box, just pass through the finish box as long as the robot no miss-tracked....

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hi, hahaha, what do u mean the nxt program?? or u mean nxt software?? if software u need to order from sasbadi...thanks...

    ReplyDelete
  77. if i use rcx for primary event, have any idea how to detect ping pong ball n grab it.... since cannot use ultra sonic sensor... oredy finish design for vertical limit but can't test it yet coz do not have map yet... bos do not approve to buy map... so mahal lo...

    ReplyDelete
  78. haha....no need detect lo....just use timing lah...
huh? how come u find the solution for primary and secondary ah? u r student or teacher or parent ah? so rajin...hehe..

    ReplyDelete
  79. mrd do u mind to tell me how long u use to get 100points for vertical limit?

    ReplyDelete
  80. teacher lo.... not so rajin la.. i teach primary school n my wife secondary skool... so i train both lo... now i have 3 set, 1 rcx n 2 nxt... need 1 more to participate 4 lower secondary...haiyo my wife punya boss banyak kedekut la... do not test yet la... i do not have map.. so sad..

    ReplyDelete
  81. ic...mRd...good lah..can try 3 events together mah..
if have time try open category also lo...nice leh...haha...
ya...i just post the vertical limit solution...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Helo Jason , any idea or solution for primary school event

    ReplyDelete
  83. primary school event very easy woh..just follow the line only...u try oredy??

    ReplyDelete
  84. But no easy to hold the ping pong , is it need to use light sensor?

    ReplyDelete
  85. vernon min, yes, u can use the light sensor to detect the black line and take the ping pong ball, but u need to design 1 arm to get the ball...u can refer to youtube....a lot of video..

    ReplyDelete
  86. Hello, Jason, Wonderful vertical limit solution, Pls. let me know how did u fix the grabbing + locking mech. Hv u used motor(servo or the one with converter cabel) to move the arm? I tried different things like gear down(power up) arms, but it slips with nxt's weight. Pls. upload a few pics of ur sample solution from diff. angle, if possible. Thnx.

    ReplyDelete
  87. eh...actually the sample solution is from thailand 1..
so i also don't have any robot picture ...sorry...
but from the movie u can c that they used same 2 NXT motor for climb and follow the line...and third motor for lock the pole and push ball...
if third motor lock the pole, then 2 motor will climb up the pole but if third motor open, 2 motor will push the robot "terbalik" and follow the line to pole B....then use third motor lock the pole B and climb the pole B.....

    ReplyDelete
  88. hi Jason, Thnx, but any idea how the entire model stays up just with locking mech when it reaches up to grab the ball, 2 climbing motors are stopped at the top. It is not slipping down. 2 climbing motors haven't used any grabbing mech, right? What kind of locking would be able to hold the entire model? Pls. acknowledge.

  89. Can use rcx motors with nxt set in the competition?

    ReplyDelete
  90. when nrc will announce date of competition? two weeks before competition?

    ReplyDelete
  91. yes...u can use rcx motors with NXT set during competition..

    ReplyDelete
  92. The date of competition will be announce by JPN later...we also don't know yet woh...sorry about that...Pahang and Selangor maybe July start competition...

    ReplyDelete
  93. i heard that competition will be on saturday only is it true?

    ReplyDelete
  94. huh? no la...normally the competition will be on weekday...

    ReplyDelete
  95. jason , how 2 run 2 sensors at a time ? dun know how 2 program . pls gv guidance . Tz

    ReplyDelete
  96. run 2 sensor at a time??
what sensor? what is the purpose??
    NXT or Robolab software??

    ReplyDelete
  97. light sensor . NXT .

    ReplyDelete
  98. then...what is the purpose?
use 2 light sensor for what??

    ReplyDelete
  99. i familiar with robolab but primary student hard to understand it, in robolab we have JUMP function, in NXT-G do not have, so how to come out from loop, for example if use 2 light sensor than if see both dark i want to end loop, so how.. my light sensor reading is 47 dark & 63 light

    ReplyDelete
  100. can someone give me a hint or photo of the nxt that can climb the pole and take the ping pong ball?..

    ReplyDelete
  101. ic...mRd, actually u can use 2 light sensor loop to end the program when 2 light sensor detected the black...
i think now u use loop forever to run the follow line right, change the forever loop to 2 light sensor loop.

    ReplyDelete
  102. i still dun understand abt using 2 light sensors

    ReplyDelete
  103. i mean how to use 2 light at the nxt program cause if i set normaly cannot set the light sensors work at the same time can you teach me how to set at the same time

    ReplyDelete
  104. for lower secondary, my school bought 1 set of map, it's not included with the aluminium tin and the switches A,B and C. what are the switches actually? is it a button or just a wall? and where can we buy the exact tin, just in case that the base or the weight of the tin is different than the usual tin we use...

    ReplyDelete
  105. for treasure hunt, the teams can buy the "100 plus" or other brand as the tin, and the switches please refer to comment on 3 April..thanks...

    ReplyDelete
  106. aiyo...i still don't understand what means by use 2 light sensor at the same time la...
work at the same time for detect black line?? follow the black line?? separate color or what??
can u explain what u want?

    ReplyDelete
  107. hey man can you give a sample model of mindstorm?

    ReplyDelete
